Portland-based marathon runner Kara Goucher says she has changed her mind and will not compete in Sunday's London Marathon. Goucher finished third on Monday in the Boston Marathon and said then that she would like to try London.
But she told The Oregonian in a text message exchange Tuesday night that she has discussed the possibility with her coach, Alberto Salazar.
She said they determined it would not help her toward her long-term goal, which is to win the marathon at the Olympics in London in 2012.
